It's my second Christmas in this space, and I've gone a different route with the decor. The tree will be without baubles, and there won't any garland. I've moved another piece of my furniture that I've had shoved away into the space, so I had to make sure that the decorations aren't too overpowering, but I am a bit of a traditionalist with Christmas decor. I love pops of red and classic touches. I want wreaths and pine cones scattered everywhere, and the tree absolutely has to look full and green, but alas, it's not possible to do everything in this space, so I'll stick to what I've got. My small tree is just fine, and I'll get my red from the cheap tapers in crystal candle holders (thanks Mom). I've been eyeing up advent candles (to be lit) and Christmas tree shaped candles (definitely not to be lit), but I'm content with my large cinnamon scented taper. For a "cute" touch, I've strung up some twine on my now wreath-less wall (it fell apart), and I've been hanging Christmas themed illustrations as I complete them (after these photos were taken, and you'll see them soon), and I found the sweet little "home for the holidays" sign in the $3 bins at Target. It works, and it feels cozy, which is all I could ask for this year. Some nice lighting and festive snuggles under a blanket because I can't go a day without opening the window when it's cold. That's comfort.
What decorations have you put up?
