Bra Talk
Padded or flimsy? Which and why?
I got my first training bra when I was in elementary school, and sometimes I feel like my boobs still have not stopped growing. Bras are a whole dramatic issue with me. Buying a bra is like buying jeans; if one part fits, there's a good chance another part doesn't. Bodies are weird y'all, and structure is everything. Padded bras offer too much support, and I end up with a full shelf at my neck, so I always sway towards a nice flimsy bra. However, I constantly hear of conflicting opinions on what type of bra is better. Some argue that padding does damage over time, and others argue the same about a lack of padding.
It's all so confusing. I know what I prefer, but what are your own opinions? Is one more comfortable than the other? That's another thing for me: excessive padding adds more pressure on my chest, and everything feels heavier. It's a mess, and I'm basically just curious about different bra opinions.
I also want to note that though this post still gets to the point I wanted, it's not as long as I'd wished it would be because the Golden Globes really distracted me/reminded me to get caught up on films before the Oscars next month. Did anyone else watch? Let's talk.
I hope Monday is treating you all well.
I can't support excessive paddings too ! It feels too heavy and makes me uncomfortable but in the same time I feel like flimsy bras don't support me enough so as you can imagine sometimes it can be a real nightmare for me to go bra shopping.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great monday !

Exactly! Bra shopping is a nightmare. I hope you've had a great Monday as well Tenin!
Deletebras. sigh. :/ i strongly dislike the wires and padding, and could never find one that properly worked for me, so i just stopped wearing them! but i highly recommend going to a small, independent lingerie shop with a sensitive sales staff who can measure you and properly advise...it's one of the best investments i think!
ReplyDeleteWires and padding are no fun. I wish I could just go without a bra completely, but that's not an option for me unfortunately. A proper fitting is probably a good idea, but I've got no clue where to go. I'll figure it out one day.
Deleteah hun, i totally hear you. i (probably shouldn't) go without one either but xP ...when i had more boobage going to a bra fitting was one of the best things i ever did, you'll find a good place!! i hope it works out for you - xoxo
DeleteBras, a necessary evil. But if faced with the choice between padded or flimsy, I would much rather pick flimsy. Not just the comfort factor, because I too cannot take the pressure from an overly padded bra.
ReplyDeleteBut it's an aesthetic thing as well. I want my boobs to look like boobs, not two perfectly round orbs sitting on my chest.
Yes! That's another good point, why not let boobs look like boobs? I love your input, thanks so much Kelly!
