Oh yes. It works.
Skinny scarves are everywhere, and I completely support this trend. It's the best way to cover your neck without overheating, and it looks great on everyone. I really think it gives the illusion of a longer neck as well. If you want that giraffe neck look, try twenty at once. Anyway, because I'm not exactly in a position to go spend fifty dollars on a skinny scarf, my coat belt is the next best thing. I can easily get away with this, and if your coat has a belt, you can too.
I honestly did not want this coat when I got it. I didn't even have a coat though, because I didn't see the point when I was in school, and then I lived in the desert. When I came back to Texas, I had to cave. I couldn't handle being out without one. However, my only option on such short notice (and for the style I wanted) was Target, and even then, I couldn't find a simple solid colored coat. This was the closest thing, and I hated it, but I needed it, and now it's one of my favorite possessions. It's versatile, and makes me feel powerful. There's a metaphor in there somewhere.
How's Tuesday treating you?
