I mentioned earlier in the month that I was doing DEDIM (Draw Every Day In May), and now that I'm two weeks in, I think it's time to share what I've been up to. The last two weeks have really reminded me just how much I loved doing my Doodle Every Day project last year. I feel so much more creatively fulfilled when I'm forcing myself to come up with a new idea every day.
So far this month, I've watched old movies with my mother, rekindled a relationship with makeup, and celebrated Mother's Day. I've had Beetlejuice on the brain, and I've had a battle with a tiny bird. I didn't do anything to hurt it, I swear, but it tried to build a nest on my front door, and it completely flipped out when I opened said door. It was an entire saga. I've taken tons of allergy medicine and simultaneously indulged in wine and mug cake. My annual "Summer hasn't even started and I already miss Winter an unusual amount," mindset has settled in, and I've been reminiscing with old favorite songs, as well as finding new songs that make me think of snow and oceans and everything good.
I'd say May is working out pretty alright. Also, please note that I decided to switch up my handwriting, and return to the cursive I detested so much as a child, roughly seven months ago. Though that sounds like it would be plenty of time, my hand still sometimes goes off on it's own, and I misspell words every once in awhile. I'll get the hang of it eventually.
