I honestly hated this illustration when I was halfway through it. I wanted to burn it, rip it into tiny pieces, flush it down the toilet, etc. I hated it. However, as usual, I became pretty fond of the end product. It's a sweet little setup, and a peak at something I think about often. Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette and simply existing on Pinterest have both convinced me that full-on outdoor dining is the way to go. In Fall though, of course. I'm not about to chance heat and bugs. Once those are factored out, I think about this all the time. It must be wonderful to set up a space under trees to dine and spend the evening with people you enjoy. I've got to do this one day.
