My 2016 Small Space Christmas Decorations

My mom made the comment last month that my tree and decor was nature-themed, and I took extreme offence, until I unpacked everything (and bought a few more things), and realized that she was right, and I was fine with it. This is the first year I've tried to buy actual "adult, grown-up" ornaments, and I'm pretty pleased with them. I've stuck to a smaller amount of ornaments, because I want to make sure they're not too overwhelming on my tiny three-foot-tall tree, and I'll be able to add a few more pieces over time. It's going well so far.

Last year I developed an extreme crush on pine tree shaped candles, and after pinning a ton of photos of said candles, I picked up a couple in after-Christmas sales just before the new year. They're lovely, though I never want to light them, and when I have a bigger space, I'll probably pick up a few more. I have the mental image of a windowsill half full of them.

I suppose my general idea when buying Christmas decorations this year was to start a permanent collection. I guess I'm looking into the future? Is that mature? I'm not sure, but I love them all anyway, and I'm pretty pleased with this year's setup. It's all festive here!

  1. Starting a permanent collection of Christmas decorations is a lovely idea, I recently started doing the same with a 'gold theme' in place. I love your little owl - what a sweet little thing!! :)

  3. Growing a permanent collection sounds mature indeed! I have a small collection growing myself and I love it! Although I don't see my current space as "the future" so I don't want to use my collection yet haha, which is silly, truly! But love your collection! The owls are so charming and love the Christmas tree candle, though I'd never use it yet either haha! Xx

    1. Oh, I definitely don't see my current space as the future either, but I'm always too many steps ahead of myself, so I'm already planning lol. Thanks so much though!

  4. You decorated it so nicely! I'm still looking for a few smaller items to put in my bedroom. I hung up some lights and I've got a santa hat around my TV haha, but I want a few more smaller things!

  5. Beautiful Amber! It's very modern and I like this nature-theme, it's rustic in a good way. I think the pieces you got are definitely timeless. A permanent collection is the way to go! You can add a little bit each year!
    Have a great week!

  6. I love how you've decorated! I decorated my small place for Christmas too and it was kind of a challenge, but also kind of relieving to not have to decorate a lot. Love that home for the holidays sign, too cute!
