Upcycle Food Boxes In A Festive Way

The internet is full of lovely bunting this time of year, so I thought I'd do my own take on the decoration. The process was pretty simple. I collected used food boxes for a week or so to upcycle, drew the letters and shapes, and cut them out. I painted them red and gold, and hot glued them to some red yarn. I burned the hell out of my hands, but I think it was worth it. The bunting definitely looks homemade, but I think it's cute and charming. This was a multi-day-long process however, and the lighting in the photos varies from day to day. So if you want a little homemade touch to your Christmas decor, upcycle!

  1. Perfect timing, Amber. I'd been thinking of putting something up on the white walls at my house, but didn't want to spend a lot of money. This looks crafty and fun! IMHO, homemade bunting is more inviting than commercially available decorations. The personal touch makes everything seem warmer.

  2. This is an adorable choice for DIY! I own one that says Merry Christmas, but it's nowhere near as chic and genuine your is! The homemade feeling is the perfect touch! Love that you didn't make holes for R/A etc, it's a stylish detail. Haha, and hope your hands are well! Xx
