Winter Whites, Blog Updates, Cooking
I had to play into the Winter whites trend at least once this year. White coats are gorgeous, but I can never fully commit to one. This coat was borrowed from my mother, because clearly she can commit. The scarf is hers as well, and I was too lazy to remove it. It works with the rest of the look though. As I look at these photos, already edited and in the post, I realize that I really need to hem those pants or something. I'm so bad at pants. This is why I wear dresses most of the time, but I digress.
I finally changed and bought my domain! I've been meaning to for at least a year, but the idea of the process stressed me out, and I kept putting it off. As it turns out, the process was incredibly simple, though I'm in header purgatory right now. I'm figuring it out. "Yachtsmaan" is finally dead though. It didn't represent my adult life (and I shouldn't be confused for a boating enthusiast anymore), and now it's simply my name (Amber, "el" for Elizabeth, and "b" for Baker). It's also the same username I have for everything else. I'm so happy with the change, and the annoyance of the old blog name is finally off of my shoulders. It's a new era for the blog.
On another note, I keep having an urge to learn how to cook. It's another goal I've added to the year, though I began the year with no real goals. Let me state that I actually can cook. I know how to make a good handful of dishes, but I want to learn more. I caught onto cooking shows last year, and I caught the food blog bug. It's all so alluring. This won't turn into a food blog though. I won't even bother photographing it unless I get good. There's no point, right? I kid. I did, however, try a new recipe last week (shrimp scampi), with absolutely no idea how to even cook with wine, and it was a success! That pretty much sealed the deal. 2017 will be the year I become metaphorically softer and a better cook.
Have you come up with any late goals for the year?
