Photographing My Entire Wardrobe

So if you don't know, which is incredibly understandable, I frequent a website called Polyvore. By frequent, I mean I spend way too much time on it throughout my every day life. I've been using the site for about eight years, and my current account for about four. I think I have a pretty good handle on putting together outfits based on photographs by now.

I've been in a rut with my own clothes/outfits/looks lately, until it finally dawned on me to take photos of every article of clothing I own. I took some with my camera for the purpose of this post, but I took photos of everything on my phone to serve as my own little pocket resource. Eight years, and I just thought to do this. How?

Anyway, I now have a way to see every piece I own in one helpful spot, and I can stop forgetting about pieces that are way in the back of my closet. That's definitely a bane. The process really didn't take too long, and it'll be easy to continue over time. This'll also be a great way to see what pieces I want to add to my collection. Spoiler alert: I feel like I need so many things now. I have an addiction.

It was a genius idea, to toot my own horn (I hate that expression but I keep saying it?), and it's proven to be just as helpful as I'd hoped it would. If you've got some free time to photograph all of your clothes, I'd highly recommend it.

  1. This is a great idea actually! Hahah I used to do something similar when I was younger. I used to sit down and come up with 15-20 outfits and take photos of them so I would have lots of options on the days I was in a fashion rut. Well, I definitely had more time back then haha, but love the idea of taking a photo of each piece! Xx
