A Work in Progress

Before this illustration, I hadn't drawn in too long. Months, probably. I felt uninspired and discouraged, but a lot can change in a matter of months, and I suddenly felt like drawing again. New tastes, new inspiration, and a new direction in life will do that.

So here's a little incomplete doodle. It was refreshing. I spent a few days working on this, on and off. Hopefully I'll get around to finishing it soon. It doesn't look the best now, but I think it'll get better.

Anyway, this weekend was long, but nice. I took photos, worked on this piece, and went antiquing with my mother and grandmother. I indulged and reset, and I'm ready for a new week. I hope you are too. What did you do over the weekend?

  1. That illustration looks lovely, love the fall vibes!! Happy to hear that you have your inspiration back too. I'm still waiting for my own outfit inspiration to return. I have too many ideas in my mind, but they're not complete in line with my wardrobe - haha the never ending problem. So I haven't had my best style game on. But hey, it's coming! Xx

  2. I think this is an interesting illustration. It has an overall moodiness to it because of the dark color palette, but the splashes of bright colors are counterbalance that nicely. By the way, the paint you squeezed onto your palette looks like a tiny pretzel. :)

    1. You just get me lol. Your opinion is greatly appreciated. And I didn't notice the paint until I posted this! Happy coincidence.
