DIY Moon Phase Wall Hanging

I've been working on new details for my space!

One thing I've been meaning to do all year is bunting for my window. I finally did that, but at the same time, I made this nice little moon phase hanging to fill a space on my collage wall. I'm head over heels for it.

I used my trusted salt dough recipe, and shaped the moons with a drinking glass. I waited a day or so after baking to paint with acrylic. I waited another day to finish them off with a coat of glossy varnish, though you can totally use a matte finish if you want. It's up to you. I personally wanted a glossy finish to make the metallic paint shine.

*NOTE: If you try this, don't forget to shape holes for twine or string! I used a drinking straw to poke the holes out before baking.

If you want to kick off your week in a creative way, I'd highly recommend this project. I'm in love with my result, and I've been trying to think of a way to incorporate another wall hanging or string of bunting somewhere in my space.
