Doing a little decorating.
I've decided to stop the "Weekend Reading" posts here. I feel very disconnected from them, and I don't feel as proud of the quality. Instead, today I'm showing you how I spent my Tuesday/Lammas. I won't publish a post exactly like this every Friday, but I wanted to open up the day to a greater variety of posts. Does that make sense? I hope you'll enjoy the schedule change anyway!
I kept a candle burning with chamomile and bergamot essential oil. It's citrus, yes, but it has almost a warm, cozy underlying scent, and I think it's perfect for the Autumnal transition.
He wanted a cuddle.
Time to bake bread. I'd never done this before, so I thought starting early was a safe bet. It wasn't actually that early now that I look back.
The bread dough is put together and ready to rise!
These gorgeous clouds rolled in, and they just made the day even more special to me. I swear I can feel Autumn in the air already.
The bread has risen, been shaped, proofed, and is ready to bake!
A strong part of me wanted to keep these decorations out longer than today. I didn't, but I wanted to.
The bread actually turned out! No one was more surprised than I!
The mosquitoes have been awful, but it wasn't as hot this day, and I wanted a bit of outside time.
I went outside again. Whoops. Bonus points if you can spot both babies in this photo. The tree looks so sick here, but I'd been waiting on rain all day. I'd planned to self water if the rain never showed...
...but alas, the rain did show! It's not super visible here, but it began slow, and didn't let up until the following afternoon. It was much needed and appreciated. Also, I know it looks like the view from my window is garbage, but I promise that you can see beyond the front of the neighbor's house, into yards, trees, and a lovely field. I'd just rather not show that on the internet, you know? I like my home being a secret.
