Repurpose

I'm currently in the midst of a holiday weekend over here, so today's post will be short and sweet.

I was looking through some old accessories I have stored away, when I came across this long statement necklace. I haven't worn it in years, but I obviously kept it for a reason. Though this piece wasn't what I was looking for (i.e. a pearl in a cage on a thin gold chain that I never did actually find), I immediately thought of a way to repurpose the item.

Actually, my first thought was to use it as a belt, but my waist isn't back down to the size I'd like, so it doesn't fit. My second thought was to wrap the chain around my neck like a choker, and I think it looked pretty alright. I could see myself breaking it out to break up a dull look in the future.

I wanted to share this little anecdote to hopefully inspire you to look through some older parts of your wardrobe and find something of your own to repurpose and/or give new life to. Let me know if you do!

  1. I love to give new life to old pieces. I recently discovered how much I love a white blouse I've had for years but never really used. I've worn it four times the past weeks, which is a lot for me haha. Have a lovely week Amber! Xx

  2. First up I'm in love with these photos, they're so interesting. And using it as a choker is a good idea, I've done that with several pieces. I think it's pretty fun to look at old items and turn them into something cool to use again.

  3. I think you've also repurposed it to create some beautiful photography here. I always comment on your focus to the details of objects and their textures. This necklace look new, old, and antique all at the same time. It also makes me think of gears and bicycle chains.

  4. It looks really good as a choker and I could totally imagine it as a belt too! Would look a little bit like the Chanel ones :). Hope you had a great Labor Day! xx
