My Allergy and Sensitive Skin Care Kit

I've been an allergy sufferer my entire life, and with that comes a sense of knowing what works to keep me from going insane. These are the products that I use, though I know they won't necessarily work for everyone. If you've got serious allergies and skin sensitivities, especially this time of year, some of these might help you as well.

To Clean and Moisturize - The most important thing I do to moisturize is apply baby oil all over after a shower or bath. I use jojoba oil on my face, and apply it after every wash. Use the coolest water temperature you can stand. Hot water only irritates the skin more. It's also important to not shower every day. It sounds gross, and it's annoying at times, but letting your body retain and maintain it's natural moisture is extremely helpful. If it's a particularly rough skin day, an oatmeal bath is a nice treat. I use the cheapest kind I can find, but it works.

For Itching - Cortizone 10 is a gift from God, I am so serious. It's the only thing that keeps me from scratching entire layers of skin off. That sounds graphic, but it happened last year. I'm dangerous. I've also had pretty extreme itchy eyes on and off lately, so allergy eye drops are a must.

Pills and Vitamins - I take Zyrtec every day as my main antihistamine, and I keep Benadryl on hand if I need an antihistamine top up during the day. I actually use the store brand versions of both, and they work just as well as the name brand. Every morning I take B12, because allergies are draining, and I take D3 for my immune system. Every little bit counts when you have excessive symptoms.

Basics - Obviously, keeping tissues on hand at all time is a good idea, and it's more important than anything to stay hydrated. Drink as much water as you can through every day, and keep count of glasses or bottles you go through if it'll help you.

I hope this is able to help someone. Are there any allergy care products you swear by?
