Weird Instagram Habits I've Noticed
Instagram is its own little world, I swear. During my little blogging hiatus, I fell into the app, and it completely gripped me. I've been trying to figure it out ever since. I wrote last week about breaking my Instagram theme, but this week I want to write about weird things I've noticed people do on the app.
1. If a photo doesn't get enough likes, some will re-upload it. I'll be honest, this one bothers me the most. It's so annoying. I've noticed people re-uploading photos that I've already liked, and I usually won't like them the second time around. Just stop.
2. There are so many giveaways going on at any given time, and I don't even think most of them are real. They usually require re-posting an image and/or tagging an excessive amount of people. I suppose it's an easy way for an account to gain traction. I'm not re-posting your image, and I'm not going to annoy others with unwanted tags.
3. I mentioned this in the last post, but story shout-outs are weird. They're almost always the same people. I experimented with shout-out-for-shout-outs a few times. They never resulted in increased activity (though that might just be my content), and one never bothered actually reciprocating. I guess I just don't see the point.
4. It's taken so seriously. I'm going to be real here. Too many people act like Instagram is the end-all-be-all of life. Too many people put all of their effort into Instagram. Here's the thing though: Instagram is just an app. The numbers don't actually mean anything. It could be gone tomorrow, and if you've put everything you do into that single app, you'll have nothing.
Don't take it so seriously.
